Painting of the Hyattstown Fire Station

Hyattstown Fire StationHallco Enterprises recently completed the repainting of the Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Station. The project was fun for our painters but also very challenging. The ongoing challenge was working in a fire station when the fire crews received a response call. Our painters had to be ready at any moment to move ladders, drop cloths and paint buckets out of the way of the firemen.

Firefighters typically are very handy and do a lot of painting. So why did they hire Hallco to do their painting? The main reason had to do with timing. Our painters were very efficient and moved through the fire hall quickly to get the work done properly and on time.

The project included painting all the hallways and ceilings with a fresh coat of paint, installing a new drop ceiling and repainting the metal ceiling grids, water damage repair and repainting, and the repainting of their doors and trim work. Hallco's paint staff finished up the project by putting a fresh coat of varnish on the wood doors and paneling.

Hallco Enterprises, located in Clarksburg Maryland services all of Howard, Frederick and Montgomery County. We primarily work with discerning homeowners and light commercial projects.

Exterior Painting & Repairs Are Just Around the Corner

iStock_000011638181XSmallMarch 1st has finally arrived which means spring is just weeks away! This is great news for painting contractors who have been stuck indoors for 3 months. It is also good news for our customers who live in the Maryland and D.C. metro areas as they too have been hammered with plenty of snow, making it impossible to do much outside. Snow can cause more dry-rot and water damage too. Now is the time to have Hallco swing by for a free consultation to inspect your exterior surfaces. The snow level is now low enough where we should be able to give you a good opinion on what is going on and the cost to fix any problem areas. Call for a free estimate today: 301-831-3679.

Hallco Enterprise offers complete interior and exterior painting services to homeowners and local businesses in the Gaithersburg, Rockville, Germantown, Potomac and other areas of the 270 corridor. Our professionals can also repair your wood surfaces. Don't forget to ask about our PVC replacement products.

We also service Howard and Frederick Counties.

Should You Paint or Carpet First?

A very common painting question we get asked is, "Should you paint or carpet first?" The answer is quite simple: it depends on whom you hire to do your painting. If you select a higher-end paint company who has a good reputation, chances are it will be fine to paint after the carpet is installed. This can be done because the painting contractor will be extra careful in covering the carpet with the proper type of plastic, paper and clean interior drop cloths. (Side note: Notice I said "interior drop cloths!" Believe me, a lot of painters don't know the different and will use a dirty exterior cloth to cover your carpet.)

If you are concerned about your carpet, by all means, paint before the carpet is installed. It really is quite a normal practice. The only downside is that the painter may have to come back after the carpet is installed to touch up or repaint your baseboards and repaint a few scuff marks on the walls that sometimes appear from the carpet installers tool belt.

Whether you are on the look out for a professional painter or just have questions regarding your home improvement project, please send us an email or write a comment here. We are located in Maryland and service Howard, Frederick, Montgomery County and the Washington Metro areas. If we are not in your area, ask us a question anyways. We'll help locate a professional painter in your area.

Interior Painting in Urbana MD

Hallco Enterprises recently began another large painting project at the Fannie Mae building located in Urbana, Maryland. We were hired to repaint many of the hallways with a low-odor, green friendly paint. We ended up using an easy to clean product from Sherwin Williams. As we began wrapping up the project, Fannie Mae added more work. We are now back to freshen up more of their interior data center as well as the door frames.

Hallco is a full-service painting contractor specializing in house painting and quality commercial painting projects. We do not do the "down and dirty" painting projects. Our professionals love painting for homeowners and building managers who appreciate quality work and want a hassle-free paint job. Wood Replacement & Painting in Kentlands

Hallco Enterprises, a Professional Painting company located near Gaithersburg MD, has the expertise to replace damaged wood and do the final paint job too. It is difficult to find a company who can do both jobs well. Several of our quality painters have a background in finish carpentry. Hallco's employees are very familiar with installing non wood products such as Azek and Trex. Replacing your damaged wood with an Azek or similar product can help solve the problems you maybe experience with dry rot and paint that tends to peel quickly.

Until recently, Kentland residence were not "allowed" to replace their rotted wood trim with Azek products. Instead, they could only use real wood. Now the HOA has approved several different types of composite products that are paintable and long-lasting. Whatever your painting and home repair needs maybe, contact Hallco and talk to our owner, Ted Hall, about your needs. He will be glad to provide you with a free estimate and give you plenty of suggestions to keep your home looking its best.

Hallco is also a proud sponsor of Kentlands Go Green Group and the Annual Tree Lighting.

Why Hire a Professional To Hang Your Holiday Lights

I recently received a very funny "joke" by email that I will share below after I share a few of my thoughts! Once you see the picture on this blog post and read the joke you will realize how true this picture can be. In short, hanging Christmas lights without the proper equipment is very dangerous. A professional holiday light company is trained not only how to hang Christmas lights so they look great but their learn how to be safe too. Christmas Decor by Hallco has some of the best installers in Maryland. They know what it means to be safe climbing up and down ladders and walking along your roof lines. So the next time you think about hanging lights yourself, remember the picture in this blog. People hire Christmas Decor by Hallco simply because of the convenience. We make holiday decorating easy!

Well, there is good news and bad news about my Christmas decorations.Fake Christmas Hanger

The good news is that I truly outdid myself this year. The bad news is that I had to take them down after only two days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever. Great stories. But two things made me take it down. First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by. Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the ladder and almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). She was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard.

I think I made him too real this time . But it was fun while it lasted. ;)

Christmas Lighting Is Hot and Heavy in Maryland

Christmas Decor by Hallco is busy as ever this week installing 3-4 homes per day with lighting displays. Our decorators are working in the cold and wet weather to service our new and existing lighting customers. This week, our schedule is pretty full for installation. However, we still have openings to meet with you regarding your Christmas decorations. Once you approve the design, we can start typically in 2-3 days. So, if you live in Montgomery or Howard County, call our office at: 888-95-DECOR or visit our Christmas Decor website and contact us: http://www.christmasdecormd.com

Because it is "late" in the season to get your Christmas lights up early, the best way to save money is to sign up for a 3 year display. What this does is locks in a lower rate on your display. You are guaranteed the same price for 3 Holiday Seasons. So ask about our 3 year special!
